SMITHFIELD, RI - Bryant University held an important campus Community Forum on Wednesday, March 6, addressing the subject of “Bias and Language.” The conversation was moderated by Dr. Eddie Moore, Jr., a nationally recognized authority on this critical topic. Participants included Bryant students, faculty, and staff who shared their experiences and thoughts on how to make Bryant’s learning environment even stronger and more inclusive.

Bryant believes it is important that conversations like this occur, and expects that this will be the first of several meaningful discussions focused on more fully-aligning the campus experience with the University’s core values. President Ronald K. Machtley noted, “One of our hopes is that today’s forum will generate further community conversation on this topic as a basis for future efforts, and as a way for us all to better understand each other and learn how to be more inclusive in a diverse world. We are extremely grateful for the students and faculty who participated and contributed to this important dialogue today.”
