SMITHFIELD, RI – After careful consideration of guidelines by government officials and health experts, Bryant University recently announced plans to resume classes on campus in fall 2020. With its expansive and secure 435-acre campus, supportive community – in academics and student life – and culture of innovation and determination, Bryant is uniquely well-positioned to successfully meet the challenges ahead.

Bryant has received an influx of inquiries since the joint announcement by President Ronald K. Machtley and incoming President Ross Gittell last week. As a result, to accommodate these students and their families, the University is extending the deposit date from May 1 until June 1. The deadline for transfer applications will be extended to August 14.

“The unprecedented circumstances have posed unique challenges for all, and we are thankful for the confidence families have placed in us to ensure a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for students this fall,” said Michelle Cloutier, Vice President for Enrollment Management. “We are here to answer questions and help our newly enrolled students navigate the months ahead, and look forward to welcoming new and returning students to our community of scholars.”

“We are committed to opening the campus next fall and will work relentlessly over the coming months to find ways to protect the health and safety of our students, staff, and faculty while providing the very special residential and in-class experience you expect from a Bryant education,” said Machtley and Gittell in last week’s announcement.
