Remembering Ray Fogarty

World Trade Day 2019 will honor the legacy of the Chafee Center’s former director, Raymond Fogarty '79, who passed away unexpectedly on September 27, 2018. Fogarty founded World Trade Day in 1985, recognizing the need for an event that would bring together business, academic, and government leaders to share strategies and opportunities for growth. This year John Hazen White, Jr., president of TACO, Inc., will present the Lifetime Achievement Award posthumously to Fogarty in recognition of his outstanding contributions promoting international trade and collaboration.

Through his long association with Bryant, first as a student and then an administrator, Fogarty was a devoted Bryant ambassador, cultivating relationships with faculty, students, and leaders throughout the business community. Ray was named Bryant’s Distinguished Alumnus in 1991.
