Learn About Bryant Apply to Bryant

“Bryant was a great eye-opener; I realized that I’m not all that different from someone from a different country and I’m no better or worse than any other American,” says Roman Ward '08. Now employed by Randstad, the $22-billion global provider of human resources services and the world’s second largest staffing organization, Ward says, “Bryant’s global focus, inclusiveness of different cultures, and distinctive curriculum help us develop as educated citizens of the world. I take those assets to my company every day.”

“If you attend a liberal arts school, you could be the perfect orator, but that’s not enough – you can’t make a living doing that. Bryant’s education equips you for the business world.”

Bryant’s mix of business and the liberal arts, says Ward, prepared him for career success. “A large part of my job is communications,” says Ward, a Management major who minored in Communication, the benefits of which mean "being able to understand financial data, drive a business, recognize what success looks like, and communicating that, as well as working in a group.”

He derives deep satisfaction from his work as a Managing Director, including seeing his staff succeed as they move into management positions. “We literally change lives by helping someone to provide for their family and by helping a company grow and prosper,” he says.

Having interviewed hundreds of prospective employees, Ward recognizes that Bryant’s curriculum is special – and effective. “If you attend a liberal arts school, you could be the perfect orator, but that’s not enough – you can’t make a living doing that,” he says. “Bryant’s education equips you for the business world; its curriculum is second-to-none.”

He also praises the University’s career services offerings: mock interviews at the Amica Center for Career Education, networking at job fairs, coaching on resume building, and learning business communication skills and business etiquette all contributed to his early successes in building a meaningful career.
