Learn About Bryant Apply to Bryant

The TEDxBryantU 2019 event will bring together 10 presenters, drawn from faculty, students, alumni, and friends of Bryant University, to share their ideas at a February 23 conference devoted to identifying “The Keys to the Future.”

A student-run initiative that is independently organized by Bryant students and licensed by the TED media platform, TEDxBryantU provides the University community with an opportunity to discuss how best to change the world in ways both large and small. The event aims to inspire attendees and start larger conversations that will extend long beyond the day's speaking sessions. “The 2019 TEDxBryantU speakers were chosen for their powerful messages and ideas,” says Vanessa MacMillan ’19, lead organizer of TEDxBryantU 2019, “and we’re looking forward to bringing those ideas to the larger Bryant community.”

TEDx events, designed to discover new ideas and spark innovation, include both live speakers and previously recorded TED Talks. Since its inception in 1984 as a single conference devoted to the convergence of Technology, Entertainment, and Design, TED has grown to include events all over the world and expanded to cover a wide range of topics — from science to business to global issues.

TEDxBryantU was created when Samantha Scoca ’18, inspired by the innovation she saw exhibited throughout Bryant, applied for a TEDx license and formed a committee and management team with other dedicated University students. Their successful 2018 event saw members of the Bryant community discuss topics ranging from reimagining customer service to pioneering new methods of decision-making to living well with chronic illness.

Members of the Bryant community interested in attending TEDxBryantU 2019 can register for the event here.
