Bryant University students come together every year for St. Jude Up ‘til Dawn, a nationwide student-run program that raises support for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. St. Jude is a leading pediatric treatment and research facility that focuses on children's diseases, particularly leukemia and other cancers.

Through Up ‘til Dawn, individual students as well as a wide range of clubs, including sports teams, sororities and fraternities, and student-government, hold fundraisers for the hospital. This year Bryant students raised more than $51,000; students have raised more than $400,000 for the children at St. Jude in the 11 years Bryant has participated in the event.

“St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is an amazing place that is helping children all over the world through their cancer treatments and research,” notes Up ‘til Dawn recruitment chair Danielle Tierney ’19, who visited the hospital in June. “Seeing the impact Bryant's fundraising makes made this event all the more important to me. Every year it's amazing to see our campus come together to raise money for such an outstanding cause.”

“We’re a school that believes in giving back to something bigger than ourselves.”

More than 200 students united in support of Up ‘til Dawn 2018. In addition to raising funds and awareness, an all-night finale celebrated the students' fundraising success with games, competitions, and a musical performance from The Bottom Line, Bryant’s coed a capella group.

Up ‘til Dawn has seen tremendous growth at Bryant; the November culmination gathering has become one of the biggest fall events held at the University. In 2017, the University’s Up ‘til Dawn program was named Best Overall Event Experience in the country.

“We’re a school that believes in giving back to something bigger than ourselves,” says Meaghan Angers ’20, a member of the Up ‘til Dawn Executive Board. “We work really hard during the school year putting on this event and we’re all doing it because we believe in the cause.”
