SMITHFIELD, RI – Spirits and hopes are high as students arrive on campus this week to prepare for the fall semester, which officially begins on August 25. A successful semester for all is contingent upon the health and safety of our community, which is the institution’s highest priority in addressing the many challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic.

In an effort to help keep the Bryant community healthy, and for campus to remain open, Bryant has launched Be Bryant Strong,” an integrated public health campaign to promote adherence to necessary health and safety guidelines as outlined in our Student Health and Wellness Pledge and Employee Pledge.

“The collective power of our community is one of Bryant’s most treasured assets,” says Bryant President Ross Gittell in a message to the community yesterday, emphasizing the responsibility shared by everyone on campus help keep the community healthy and safe.

Designed to strengthen commitment to a campus culture of shared purpose and responsibility, the “Be Bryant Strong” campaign includes coordinated communications with multiple videos and an interactive PDF shared across Bryant channels, including social media, to help keep everyone informed.

To follow are the five key components of the “Be Bryant Strong” public health communications campaign meant to galvanize Bryant’s sense of community, and to inspire everyone to do their part. 

  • #BeBryantStrong Video messages. Designed to strengthen commitment to a campus culture of shared responsibility, the campaign includes a #BeBryantStrong video message featuring students, faculty, staff, and Bryant leaders sharing a message of strength and unity in a shared purpose. There is also video that highlights the “Top 5 ways we will Be Bryant Strong in fall 2020.”

  • Ongoing updates from Bryant University leaders. There’s a lot to get done in the next 100 days from move-in to the last day of exams, and Bryant’s leaders recognize that communication is critical to success. They are committed to ongoing regular communication with the Bryant community.

  • Bryant.edu/reopening website and social media. Bryant’s reopening website is updated daily with key information for navigating health and safety, student and campus life, academics, athletics, working at Bryant, visitor information, and a helpful FAQ section. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn for updates.

  • Weekly reopening newsletter. Bryant’s reopening newsletter published weekly and sent to all students, faculty, staff, provides the latest developments, safety measures and processes for a smooth reopening and operations throughout the semester.

  • Overview brochure PDF. This interactive PDF provides a helpful overview of how Bryant is approaching the fall reopening and includes resources and links to valuable information for all constituencies.

Bryant’s greatest resource is its people, and every individual is committed to doing their part to work toward a successful and healthy semester that begins on August 25. The University is leveraging its foundational strengths, lifted by a spirit of determination and an unwavering commitment to excellence and to one another, to prepare to safely return to campus to live and learn together.
