SMITHFIELD, RI – Bryant University announces the appointment of two tenure-track faculty members to its nationally ranked Accounting department. Muni Kelly, Ph.D., and E. Jin Lee will join the Bryant faculty effective July 1, 2021.

The Accounting program at Bryant, ranked No. 3 in the country by College Factual, is renowned for preparing students to be leaders and decision makers in an increasingly complex and interconnected world. Qualified undergraduate students are eligible to take up to two graduate courses during their senior year toward completion of the Master of Professional Accountancy (MPAc) degree. Through a real-world curriculum and learning experience, Bryant’s Accounting graduates are sought after by business, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations including BNY Mellon, Citizens Bank, EY, PwC, and Teknor Apex Company.

Muni Kelly

Muni Kelly joins Bryant University as an Assistant Professor of Accounting. Kelly received her Ph.D. and MBA degree from Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD, and her Bachelor of Science degree in Banking and Finance from Regent University College of Science and Technology in Accra, Ghana, in 2011. Before joining Bryant, she was an Affiliate Instructor of Managerial Accounting at Loyola University of Maryland and a Principles of Accounting Lecturer at Morgan State University. Her co-authored research, “Management Entrenchment and Stock Option Backdating,” was published by Resistance and Accountability (Advances in Public Interest Accounting, Vol. 22). Kelly is a member of the American Accounting Association, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the National Black MBA Association. Her teaching interests include Cost/Managerial Accounting, Financial Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, and Auditing.

E. Jin Lee

E. Jin Lee joins Bryant University as an Assistant Professor of Accounting. Lee will receive her Ph.D. in Accounting at Florida International University in Miami, FL, this year. She received her Master of Accountancy degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Before joining Bryant, she was an Instructor of Managerial Accounting at Florida International University. Her co-authored research, “Did the Recognition of Operating Leases Cause a Decline in Equity Valuations?,” was recently featured in the Wall Street Journal and Compliance Week. Lee is a member of the American Accounting Association and the Korean American Accounting Professors Association. Her teaching interests include Data Analytics (with Machine Learning), Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, and Auditing.
