NEWS BRIEF

Diya Das, Ph.D., Associate Dean of the College of Business and Professor of Management at Bryant, was featured in the Oct. 25 article, “Gen Z Staffers Don’t Want Old-School Training,” by Ignites, a unit of the Financial Times covering financial markets and mutual funds. The article provides insights on how to best onboard and train a generation of workers accustomed to working remotely with “disparate but marketable skill sets.”

"It’s important for firms to rethink how they intend to promote such employees because they may require a less traditional path of mobility,” says Das, a respected expert in organizational behavior, human resource management, and international business.

"Firms must train to retain," notes Das. "To train young employees who have never experienced a full-time, in-office environment, firms must strike a balance between online and in-person requirements."

"The training such employees receive must also prepare them for careers that could evolve as artificial intelligence changes the workplace."
