A team of International Business students from Bryant University has placed third in the International Business Case Competition. Seniors Holly Chadwick, Emma Jasper and Aimee Parenteau and sophomore Hailey Olshefsky represented the only all-female team to place at this year's competition, held April 20 to 22 at the University of Missouri – St. Louis. Their win also marks Bryant's first time placing in the Case Competition since its founding in 2013.

In the competition, students are charged with solving a real-world problem faced by a company in its global business interactions. This year's case was “Digital Transformation of the Global Grocery Industry – a Strategic Response to a Disruptive Threat" and competitors answered the case question: "As consumers across the globe embrace an omni-channel approach to acquiring groceries, how can [refrigeration leader] Hussmann utilize their core competencies and position of market leadership to win in the new eGrocery modalities that are gaining traction for food at home?”

Faculty mentor Jacqueline Saslawski, J.D., director of the International Business program and a lecturer in the Management program, commends the students for their work in the competition, which featured eleven teams from ten universities across the nation.

“We worked together this semester to prepare for the competition and the students exemplified academic depth, professionality, integrity, creativity, and collegiality," says Saslawski.
