Each episode of the Bryant Faculty Spotlight, a podcast highlighting faculty scholarship and innovation, offers a unique, behind-the-scenes look at high-level academics and research. Through in-depth discussions with outstanding members of the Bryant faculty, the podcast examines their recent projects and publications—as well as the successes they’ve had and the challenges they’ve faced along the way.

After exploring new ways to feature Bryant’s sought-after experts and thought leaders, the Collection Management and Digital Services team of the Douglas and Judith Krupp Library created the podcast series in 2019, in collaboration with University Relations. The series not only highlights the talents of Bryant’s world-class faculty, but also how their perspective, experience, and passions—both inside and outside of the classroom—enhance their teaching and research.

Faculty and their real-world impact

Hosted by Digital Services and Research Librarian Sam Simas, the Bryant Faculty Spotlight provides a window into the important work being done by the faculty, and the real-world impact on their respective fields, from their expertise shaping policy decisions to their discoveries adding to global conversations.

“We have a lot of exciting work being done, so it’s great to have another way to showcase the ideas we’re discussing in our research and in the classroom."

“We have a lot of exciting work being done, so it’s great to have another way to showcase the ideas we’re discussing in our research and in the classroom,” says Michael Roberto, D.B.A., Trustee Professor of Management, who was featured in episode seven of the podcast for his recent case study about the Boeing 737 Max crisis.

Inspiring the Bryant community to excel

The series also highlighted the nimbleness of Bryant faculty, who practice the innovative principles they teach. They adapt and iterate when challenges arise—a critical skill that is part of Bryant’s real-world education—and a big reason why Bryant graduates are in record demand, and inspired to excel both personally and professionally.
