Meet Bryant Brown ’22, from Chatham, NJ. A leader on campus, it’s important to him to help others discover their passions. “It’s so important to get out of your comfort zone – in your academics, your career path and in the clubs you join,” he says. “If you have even a tiny urge to try something new, you should definitely do it.”
Inspired by a high school trip to the Google offices, Brown chose to major in Marketing at Bryant University. His coursework, including classes in Marketing Research and Integrated Advertising Communications (two of his favorites), is teaching him how to communicate ideas effectively and persuasively through a variety of channels.
A co-major in Applied Analytics gives him an important competitive advantage. “As someone who aspires to be part of the decision-making process at a high-achieving organization, I believe that my analytics background will help me make better business decisions based on key insights,” he states.
“Bryant University helped me land my job by helping me develop my leadership skills, my ability to collaborate with a team, and my ability to identify and solve problems."
But a college education is about more than the classroom, Brown notes. “My favorite thing about Bryant University is all of the opportunities that exist to find what you’re passionate about,” he says. “All of the clubs, career development opportunities, guest speakers and workshops here show you that your possibilities are endless.”
He’s gotten involved in a variety of aspects of campus life, from representing his classmates as a Student Senator to serving on the University’s Student Advisory Board for Inclusive Excellence, where he helps to ensure Bryant is a welcoming place for everyone. One of his proudest accomplishments is founding Bryant Club Basketball.
As Vice President of Bryant’s Marketing Association, Brown helps connect students with invaluable resources and mentors. “I feel that it’s important to use my knowledge and experience to give back to the underclassmen and help them with their career journey,” he says.
He’s already off to a great start on his own journey. After graduation, he’ll be joining Verizon as an Account Manager with their Business Development team. “Bryant University helped me land my job by helping me develop my leadership skills, my ability to collaborate with a team, and my ability to identify and solve problems,” says Brown.
