Jan 03, 2025, by Bryant News staff

Bryant is home to an abundance of impressive stories, and, over the last year, our brand journalists, videographers, and social media experts have captured many visual and written narratives that share the university’s story with the world. From a ten-day trip where graduate students explored Prague and Berlin to three Bryant alums who took their football talents to the NFL, here are a few of our favorites:

Bryant University: Our story of transformation

“I don't think many people realize just how deep Bryant's history runs, or the lasting impact we've made over the years. We've grown tremendously as an institution, and the future is even brighter. This video encapsulates our journey by honoring the rich legacy we've built — celebrating our remarkable evolution and showcasing the exciting path ahead.” -Kerri Rubino ’25MBA

Onward and upward: GIE students experience international travel, personal transformation

Students abroad.

“‘The journey is the reward,’ as the saying goes and, for the Bryant MBA students who traveled to Prague and Berlin in January, that reward will stay with them for the rest of their lives. Over the course of ten days, the students, led by a dedicated team of educators and education professionals, explored the world, challenged themselves, and gained the insight and experience they’ll need to prepare for future adventures — both personal and professional. I felt honored to accompany them.” -Stephen Kostrzewa

Should students leverage AI in the writing process? Intro course explores best practices

Carrie Kell speaks to students.

“I’ve shadowed at least a dozen courses over the last year, yet none have stood out quite like History, Literature, and the Arts Lecturer Carrie Kell’s “Writing Workshop.” I loved how she turned the conversation regarding artificial intelligence from cheating and plagiarism to teaching students how they can use generative AI as a collaborative partner throughout the writing process.” -Emma Bartlett

Besties for Life

“First-year student moms, Georgia and Julie, who became best friends during their time in college, have since been inseparable. Eighteen years later, the two sent off their children Gregory and Nadia to be Bulldogs together this past fall semester.” -Paige Zuber ’25MBA

Fruity is in the eye of the beholder, new marketing research suggests

Eggplant with googly eyes.

“Bryant Professor of Marketing Sukki Yoon, Ph.D., suggests that some of the best academic research is both applicable and easy to understand — but it doesn’t hurt if there’s a little bit of fun in there, too. Telling the story of how Yoon and Associate Professor of Marketing Kacy Kim, Ph.D., turned an inquisitive eye to a difficult problem and came up with an innovative solution that also manages to draw a smile was a joy (special thanks to my editor for indulging my wordplay).” -Stephen Kostrzewa

From Broadway musicals to abstract art, NYC trip exposes students to creative industries

Artist speaks with Bryant students in gallery.

“I wasn’t sure what to expect when I hopped on a Bryant bus at 5 a.m. and headed to New York City with a group of 30 undergrads and faculty in early January. The five-day Arts in the City trip quickly became an immersive and moving experience involving contemporary art, song and dance, local and national history, and connecting with Bryant alums. From learning the business side of Broadway to exploring the evolution of the moving image, you could see the light bulbs go on as students discovered how they could turn their passion for the arts into in-demand careers.” -Emma Bartlett

Breaking barriers, acing academics: The strength of three generations of Bryant women

Three Bryant alums.

"Multigenerational 'legacies' may be common in Ivy League schools with centuries of history, but it was cool to discover how Bryant has nurtured and inspired three generations of women — grandmother, mother, and now daughter — to excel in the classroom, in athletics, and in their careers." -Bob Curley

Because of Bryant

“I believe this video captures the essence of Bryant's unwavering commitment to excellence — shining a light on our vibrant community spirit through the inspiring stories of our exceptional students. It’s truly an honor to be entrusted with sharing those stories and bringing them to life through the power of video.” -Kerri Rubino ’25MBA

Psych expert explains why parents should talk to their kids about elections, politics

Little girl holds American flag.

“Difficult conversations aren’t always easy, but they are extremely important. I love how Professor of Psychology Allison Butler, Ph.D., approached her recommendations for how parents should talk to their children about elections and politics. From having kids vote on their new pet’s name to teaching teens about fact checking the information they see online, this is one article to have on file for when it’s needed.” -Emma Bartlett

On day 1 at the BELC, Bryant students step into the university's cutting-edge future

Students in the BELC.

“The opening of the Business Entrepreneurship Leadership Center (BELC) was a landmark moment in the history of Bryant University but, in many ways, it was also business as usual. Being a part of the BELC’s first day served as a reminder of how special Bryant’s dedicated, talented, and caring community is — and has always been.” -Stephen Kostrzewa

Three Bulldogs doggedly pursue pro football fame

"The Bryant Bulldogs’ football team may be perceived as underdogs when it comes to playing in Division I, but I loved talking to these three Bryant alums who are playing with the 'big dogs' in the NFL. It's a dream come true for each of these guys but also a product of hard work in a sport where nothing is guaranteed." -Bob Curley

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

“It's no surprise that the class of 2024 has a lot of determination, especially after a rocky undergrad start thanks to COVID-19, but it was extra special to hear their hopes and dreams that Bryant was able to support over the last four years. Whether it was continuing their education, embarking on a dream career, or starting a family — we're honored that Bryant played a role in preparing them for their next chapter.” -Paige Zuber ’25MBA
